In a written response to a question on Rajya Sabha, State Minister for Foreign Affairs V Muraleedharan said that there are 43 countries that offer visas on arrival and 36 countries that offer electronic visas to ordinary Indian passport holders.
“There are 16 countries that provide visa-free entry to ordinary Indian passport holders,” Muraleedharan said.
Barbados, Bhutan, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Hong Kong SAR, Maldives, Mauritius, Montserrat, Nepal, Niue Island, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Senegal, Serbia and Trinidad and Tobago, provide visa-free entry to ordinary passport Indian headlines, according to information provided by the minister.
Iran, Indonesia and Myanmar are among 43 countries that provide visa on arrival services to holders of ordinary Indian passports.
Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Malaysia are among the 36 countries that provide e-visa services to holders of ordinary Indian passports, according to information provided by the minister.
The government has been making efforts to increase the number of countries that provide visa-free travel, visa on arrival and e-visa service to further facilitate international travel for Indians, Muraleedharan said.
While the issuance of the visa and the visa-related process is a sovereign and unilateral decision of the respective country, the matter of easier and more liberalized visa policy for Indian citizens is regularly addressed in bilateral meetings and forums with foreign countries. , said.
