Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Wednesday targeted the Uttar Pradesh government for not allowing the buses arranged by the party to transport the migrants enter the state.

She said that the Yogi Adityath government insisted on the production of the documents of the vehicles, and the delay in the initiative for the loss of time in communication.

“If I had allowed these buses to run, around 72,000 people would have been home by now. But they are dedicated to the policy. The buses were standing in the Rajasthan-Uttar Pradesh border since yesterday and are not of any help,” Gandhi said at a press conference digital.

She said that the Congress wants to help in a positive way and do not want to fall into the policy.

“I request you to let these buses to enter in Uttar Pradesh,” she said addressing the chief minister. “This is not a time to play politics, all parties must put aside politics and help people.”

She also said that the buses remain in the Uttar Pradesh of the border until 4 pm Wednesday.

Priyanka Gandhi and Yogi Adityanath state government of Uttar Pradesh are at odds over his plan to send 1,000 buses to transport the migrants in Uttar Pradesh.

The offer was made on Saturday, and accepted the Monday. But by Tuesday night, the state government said that only 879 of the more than 1,000 vehicles, buses, and the rest of three-wheeled and other vehicles, provoking reactions of anger in the Congress.

“The government has crossed all limits. When there is an opportunity to end the political differences and serve the helpless migrant workers, which has caused all the obstacles. @myogiadityanath ji can use BJP flags and posters on these buses, but do not reject our feelings of service,” he said in a tweet on Tuesday.

The Congress had on Tuesday accused the BJP and Adityanath of indulging in “cheap politics” and “doublespeak” by not leaving in their buses to transport the migrants.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala held a press conference Tuesday, where he said that the chief minister was “insensitive as he was plunging the migrants in hotels and petty politics”.
