The Supreme Court dismisses the guilty plea seeking the imposition of the president’s government in Maharashtra

On Friday, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking the imposition of the president’s government in Maharashtra. The petition, which was filed by three Delhi residents, sought the government of the president in the state and the removal of the government of Maha Vikas Aghadi led by Uddhav Thackeray.

Rejecting the statement, Chief Justice of India SA Bobde told the petitioners: “You can ask the President.” The court disapproved of the petitioners for singling out only Maharashtra. “Do you know how big Maharashtra is?” the CJI asked them while dismissing the motive.

The statement, presented by lawyers Rishab Jain and Gautam Sharma and social worker Vikram Gahlot, alleged a deterioration in the law and order situation in Maharashtra. They mentioned the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the dispute over the demolition of the Kangana Ranaut bungalow and the attack on former Indian Navy officer Madan Lal Sharma to back up their statement.

“On the contrary, when the state machinery is allowed to be used as a band of people to throw the law to the winds and undertake oppressive activities at the behest of the ruling dispensation that shows and establishes a failure of the constitutional machinery and demands imposition of the government of the president in the state, ”the petitioners said in their guilty plea.

The petitioners had also said that if not the entire state, then at least Mumbai and its neighboring districts should be controlled by the armed forces. “Declaring the state of emergency in Maharashtra, and in any case in the city of Mumbai and neighboring districts as a serious threat to the safety of the citizens residing there has arisen due to the direct conduct of the current government, and placing it under the dominion of the armed forces forces to help the civil administration ”, they said.
