The Sukhi Lamma group on Saturday, through a Facebook post, assumed responsibility for the murder of Dera Sacha member Sauda Manohar Lal Arora, father of the accused sacrilege incident in Gurusar village.
They claim that this was done to avenge incidents of sacrilege in the villages of Bargadi and Gurusar in Bhagta Bhaika in 2015.
In a post published by Sukhi Gill Lamma on Facebook, he said that the murder that took place in Bhagta was committed by his brothers, Harjinder and Amana, because they disrespected Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
On October 12, 2015, they threw the pages into the streets of Bargadi and then made sacrileges in the village of Gurusar in Bhagta.
In Saturday’s post they said that the next time that if someone thought of disrespecting their father, they should keep in mind that they would eliminate their entire family.
“Let’s make one thing clear: whatever we do, we do it on our own, we don’t ask anyone for permission,” they wrote in Punjabi.
Bathinda SSP Bikramjit Singh Virk said: “We are conducting the autopsy and cremation of the deceased. A group has taken responsibility on social media and our teams are working on it to catch the accused. “
On Friday, Manohar Lal was in his shop, near the bus stop in Bhagta Bhaika, along with two workers, when two unidentified men shot him.
The seriously injured victim was later taken to Adesh Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His son, Jimmy, is charged in a case of sacrilege incident in the village of Gurusar.
On June 2, 2015, an FIR was registered at the Baja Khana Police Station after a Guru Granth Sahib ‘bir’ was stolen from a gurdwara in Burj Jawahar Singh Wala.
On October 12, the torn pages of the ‘bir’ were found in Bargari. During the protests that followed, two Sikh men were shot dead by police in the village of Behbal Kalan on October 14.
Later, on October 20, around 157 pages of Guru Granth Sahib were found scattered in different places in the village of Gurusar. According to the police, these pages were from the same “bir” that was stolen from the gurdwara in the village of Burj Jawahar Singh Wala in Faridkot.
