Actor Rajeev Khandelwal has shared his views on the prevalence of chair casting in the glamor industry and believes that those who are victims of the practice always have the option to say no. The Table No. 21 actor had recently revealed that he was once proposed by a star filmmaker in exchange for a two-movie deal, before his Bollywood debut.
When asked for sexual favors in exchange for acting roles, many people say it prevails in the Indian film industry. Many people from Bollywood and other industries were named during India’s MeToo movement in 2018.
Asked if those people should be named and embarrassed, Rajeev told the Hindustan Times in an interview: “No, I don’t think so at all. He said he chose to make his Bollywood debut with a lower-budget movie, Aamir, in which he played the lead role, rather than agree to the two-movie deal. “In my case, I experienced that someone was trying to exploit me but I didn’t give up. However, Rajeev wants criminals to be ashamed if they cross the line. The actor wants “those who violate and those who exploit the situation because the person has no other choice” to be named and embarrassed. “There are bigger people who should be ashamed, those who hurt others, people who divide people in the name of religion, should be ashamed,” he says.

Mention the MeToo movement and Rajeev asks how many people keep a check on the development that happened during the movement and what is happening in that regard today. He is of the opinion that “people are getting on a wave and getting off at their convenience, forgetting where the wave went.”
