The Ministry of Health issues guidelines for the reopening of schools from 9 to 12 classes on a voluntary basis


NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare published the SOP on Tuesday for a partial reopening of schools for students in classes 9 to 12 on a voluntary basis, for receiving guidance from their teachers.

All states / UTs are expected to comply with the COVID-19 related guidelines issued by the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Generic preventive measures


me. A physical distance of at least 6 feet should be followed whenever possible.

ii. The use of covers / face masks will be mandatory.

iii. Wash hands frequently with soap (for at least 40-60 seconds) even when hands are not visibly dirty. The use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers (for at least 20 seconds) can be done whenever possible.

iv. Respiratory labels must be strictly followed. This involves the strict practice of covering your mouth and nose while coughing / sneezing with a bent tissue / handkerchief / elbow and discarding used tissues properly.

v. Self-monitoring of health by everyone and report any illness as soon as possible.

saw. Spitting is strictly prohibited.

vii. Installation and use of the Aarogya Setu application can be recommended whenever possible.

All schools (with classes IX to XII) must specifically guarantee the following arrangements

me. Online / distance learning will continue to be allowed and will be encouraged.

ii. Students in classes 9 through 12 will be allowed to visit their school voluntarily to receive guidance from their teachers. This will be subject to the written consent of your parents / guardians. These visits and the teacher-student interaction should be organized in a staggered manner.
