Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Tuesday released an eight-week alternate academic calendar, developed by NCERT, for classes 9 to 12. The alternate calendar maps topics with the use of technology and social media tools to provide education while students are at home.
The Minister of Education, while tweeting about the alternative academic calendar, wrote: “We launched the Alternative Academic Calendar (AAC) for the next 8 weeks for the secondary stage today. The 12-week Alternative Academic Calendar for the primary and upper primary stages and the AAC for the 4-week upper secondary and upper secondary stages had already been published ‘.

In accordance with the new Unlock 4 guidelines, schools will begin (partially) for students in classes 9-12 beginning September 21, 2020. Student participation in the class is voluntary.
The academic calendar contains weekly plans consisting of interesting and challenging activities, with reference to the topic / chapter taken from the syllabus or textbook.
