The brother of the late actor Divya Bhatnagar has said she was subjected to violence at the hands of her husband, Gagan Gabru. Divya died from complications from Covid-19 on Monday.
In an interview, his brother Devashish said that he left a note detailing the abuse he suffered in their marriage and that he had also filed a police report in November.
He told The Times of India: “Gagan began to physically and mentally torture Divya shortly after their marriage. She had written a note on November 7, in which she said that Gagan was torturing and abusing her. We found the note in your closet yesterday. He had also approached the police and filed an NC on November 16 against him, following an episode of domestic abuse. I told her to stay strong when I got to talk to her during her hospitalization. ”
Previously, actress Devoleena Bhattarcharjee had shared a video in which she accused Gagan of putting Divya in hell and promised to put him in her place. She said: “I am making this video because I have to talk about the mental stress and physical abuse that she had to suffer, and the man who is responsible for it.”
She continued: “I’m talking about you, Gaggan Gabru. You posted that Divya’s mother and brother were against your relationship and that they were getting publicity because of you. Who are you? You are nobody. You came here and begged her acceptance. I cut ties with her for four years because of you. Who are you to advertise? I’ll advertise you now. “
