The Office of Narcotics Control has arrested comedian Bharti Singh of The Kapil Sharma Show in a drug trafficking case after questioning her and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa on Saturday. The development came briefly after the drug agency raided the couple’s home and conducted a search operation at their production home. Netizens were quick to establish an action link against Bharti with the taunts of Arnab Goswami by his co-stars Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek on the Salman Khan-produced show.
A news flash from ANI said the NCB had raided Bharti Singh’s production office and home, adding that the agency recovered 86.5g of Marijuana from both places. Both Bharti and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa reportedly confessed to using the prohibited substance.
While Bharti has been arrested, the interrogation of her husband is underway.
Many netizens were quick to link the action to a popular star of The Kapil Sharma Show to the Sony TV show’s attempt to poke fun at Arnab Goswami in one of its recent episodes. The episode of mockery of Goswami and his colleague Pradeep Bhandari went viral on social media. In the viral video, Kiku and Krushna were seen reenacting the story of the founder of Republic TV. many drugs do rant by replacing the words to mujhe jar to do.
The NCB had previously arrested actress Rhea Chakraborty, a former girlfriend of Sushant Singh Rajput, and had questioned Deepika Padukone. He had also questioned actor Arjun Rampal and his girlfriend.
Neither Kapil Sharma nor any of Bharti’s other co-stars, such as Archana Puran Singh, have reacted to his sensational arrest. Bharti also hosts a popular dance reality show Best Dancer in India on Sony TV, whose grand finale is scheduled for this weekend.
It is unclear if the final episodes have already been filmed and their broadcast will air non-stop.
