The Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has published new guidelines to vehicles plying between Delhi and Noida during block 4.0, which has been extended until May 31.
In a statement issued by the authority, said that the Noida-Delhi border will remain closed, except for the movement of people associated with exempt services. This order will again restrict movement of traffic between the borders for people who are residing in NCR until the end of the month.
The decision comes days after the blockade was extended with the revised guidelines from May 18. Initially the vehicles were allowed for persons who travel for work to cross the borders of the city in the region of NCR. However, in the last days, Kalindi Kunj and DND Corridor have seen large traffic chaos causing mile-long queues to enter or exit the border past the checkpoints.
One of the main causes of traffic jams was the police asking passing motorists. Noida administration has been strict, while allowing the entry of vehicles of new Delhi. E-passes issued by the DM office was the key to get past the barricades.
Senior Uttar Pradesh Police official, was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, “We are reviewing each vehicle, but sometimes it becomes very difficult due to the number of vehicles. The people with valid passes are allowed. However, if someone does not have a pass and is carrying some important items such as medicine, are also allowed.”
