The government of Maharashtra extends the blockade until September 30, but with important relaxations


Mumbai: As Covid-19 cases continue to rise unabated, the government of Maharashtra on Monday extended the lockdown on the state until September 30.

However, the government issued new guidelines for ‘Unlocking 4’ under Mission Begin Again for the opening of more activities in areas outside the containment zones starting on September 2.

As part of this, all non-essential stores will be allowed to continue, hotels and trunks will be allowed to operate at 100% capacity, following standard operating procedures that will be issued so that necessary precautions are taken.

All state government offices with officials from groups A and B will operate with 100% force. Personnel other than these to attend the office with 30% strength or 30 employees, whichever is more in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune Municipal Corporations, Pimpri-Chinchwad and others.

In the rest of the state, you can operate 50% force personnel or 50 employees, whichever is greater.

A surveillance office will be designated in each office to ensure standards such as social distancing, face covering, etc.

All private offices can operate up to 30% strength based on requirements.

The state government also allowed movement between districts of goods and people. The operation of private minibuses has also been allowed and for which the SOPs will be issued by the State Transportation Commissioner.

However, educational and training institutions will remain closed in the state.

Movie theaters, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theaters, bars, auditoriums, etc. will remain closed.

Metro rail transport and international passenger air transport continue to be prohibited, except as permitted by the Ministry of the Interior.
