The first look at India’s PUBG mobile alternative is here

FAU-G, the upcoming Indian mobile game based on the heroics of the Indian armed forces, now has its first official cinematic trailer. Released today by the game’s sponsor and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, the cinematic is in line with what previous reports about the game have talked about. FAU-G, which stands for Fearless And United – Guards, was announced as PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular Indian and world games of all time, was banned by the Indian government.

The trailer shows a conflict scene in mountainous terrain, which will presumably feature an armed conflict scene against enemy forces that players will face in game missions. In previous reports, Vishal Gondal, the founder and head of nCore Games, the developer of FAU-G, was quoted as stating that FAU-G gameplay will not come with a Battle Royale mode at launch. Instead, the gameplay will be based on India’s recent armed conflict against China on the border of the Galwan Valley. Presumably the teaser depicts these same scenes.

FAU-G is scheduled to launch soon. After an initial release deadline of October 2020, latest reports suggest that FAU-G will launch in the next few weeks, in November 2020. Given the game’s teaser look, it remains to be seen if FAU-G brings the same competition online. player ecosystem the way PUBG Mobile did, or is designed purely as a level-based, single player shooter. More details will be released soon, especially with the initial cinematic trailer now available.

PUBG Mobile was banned in light of online security concerns it represented rather than its ties to its Chinese publisher, Tencent Gaming. To solve its problems, PUBG Mobile India has since announced that it has severed ties with Tencent in India, but whether that would be enough to bring the game back to Indian cyberspace remains to be seen, despite isolated reports. The creators of FAU-G, on this note, have so far stressed that the game will not attempt to replicate what PUBG already offers, but will instead come with an original story.
