Mumbai:
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) on Tuesday, wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray, requesting permission to restart the post-production activities, film shows and other entertainment projects nearing completion, reported the news agency PTI. FWICE, the parent body of 32 different trades of the workers and technicians of the industry with more than five lakh members, he said that several producers have invested millions of rupees in the projects that are now languishing in the uncertainty due to the blockage.
“We would like to bring to your kind notice that there are numerous projects in the Media and Entertainment Industry that are stopped due to lock and can be completed soon as only the post-production activities such as editing, sound recording, music recording, and others are pending. If permits are given to carry out such post-production activities of these projects, which can be done in closed studies with a minimum of labor, it would be a great relief to producers, who have poured in huge funds and that will be ready to launch their projects immediately after the blockade is lifted,” the letter read.
According to FWICE, the permission to continue with the post-production of activities of these projects to the point of terminations can be a sigh of relief to the producers, with a guarantee of early release of projects “to ensure some returns of the funds invested”.
“We ensure that we comply with all necessary guidelines relating to the health, safety, and the safety of the workers involved in the post-production activities, if allowed to do so. We expect you to be considerate and thoughtful with regard to our request and provide us with the necessary permits to resume the post-production activities for the pasted project of the media and entertainment industry,” the letter further read.
