The family of the rape victim of Hathras allege administrative and police pressure; demands CBI investigation: The Tribune India

Hathras / Noida, October 1

The family of the 19-year-old Dalit woman who succumbed to her injuries in a Delhi hospital after she was allegedly ganged in Hathras on Thursday alleged that the district administration was pressuring them to “repeatedly change” their statement.

The woman’s father, whose death has sparked massive outrage in the country and strong criticism of the UP government, said he was being pressured by government officials and demanded a CBI investigation into the matter.

The father, in his 50s, claimed that he was “pressured” to go to a police station where the district magistrate and police officers forced three members of his family to sign a document.

“But we are not satisfied with this. My daughter’s case must be investigated by the IWC and supervised by a Supreme Court judge. We are under pressure from officials and confined to our home, while the media has not been allowed to meet with us either, ”he said in an alleged video shared by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Twitter.

The development came when a video appeared allegedly showing Hathras Praveen District Magistrate Kumar Laxkar meeting the family at his home, where he allegedly asked the woman’s father to “reconsider” whether he wanted to stick to the statement or change it.

Aap apni vishwasniyata khatam mat kariye. Media wale main aapko bata doon … aaj abhi aadhe chale gaye, kal subah tak aadhe aur nikal jaenge aur 2-4 din bachenge … Hum hi bas khade hain aapke saath mein, thik hai. Ab aapki ichha hai, aapko baar-baar bayaan badalna hai, nahi badalna hai …

(You must not destroy your credibility. About the media, I must tell you, half of them have left today … the other half would leave tomorrow morning … maybe two or four more days. We are just by your side. , Okay. Now, it’s up to you if you want to change your statement repeatedly or not …) “, says DM Laxkar to the victim’s father according to the video on social networks.

A female family member claimed that she was being pressured by the district magistrate and feared that “these people will now not let us live here,” according to another alleged video shared by Rahul Gandhi.

“A logon ne mummy ke ulte seedhe video bana rakhe hain, us time haalat aise the ke jiske jo mu mein aa raha tha wo hum log bole ja rahe the … ab ye log humein yahan rehne nahi denge. Ye DM zyada hi chaalbaazi kar rahe hain, daal pressure rahe zabardasti … keh rah eke tum logon ki baton ka bharosa nahi hai, zabardasti bayaan badal rahe.

(They have made random videos of the mother’s statements. Shortly after the incident, the situation was such that we were talking about whatever came to mind … But now (the administration) will not let us live here anymore . This DM is giving himself to deceit, he is pressuring us. He says that we are not trustworthy, we are changing our statement “, alleged the woman sobbing.

In response to the video, Rahul Gandhi in a Hindi tweet said: “How long are you going to suppress the voice of the poor-Dalit-adivasis? How long are you going to hide the truth? How many more daughters will be secretly burned? You will not be able to stop the voice of the country now. ”

He also used the hashtags “JusticeForIndiasDaughters” and “HathrasHorror” with his tweet.

UP Police say the woman was not raped

Hours earlier, a senior Uttar Pradesh police officer said the forensic report revealed that the Hathras woman was not raped.

Citing a report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), ADG (Law & Order) Prashant Kumar said the cause of his death is a neck injury and the resulting trauma.

“The FSL report has also arrived. It clearly says that the samples did not have sperm. Make it clear that there was no rape or gang rape, ”said Kumar.

“Even the woman in her statement to the police did not mention the rape, but only spoke of ‘marpeet’ (beatings),” he said. PTI

“In order to disturb social harmony and create caste violence, some people presented the facts incorrectly,” said the UP policeman.
