Except for one resident, the entire population of Thorang village in Lahaul, Himachal Pradesh has tested positive for coronavirus. Bhushan Thakur, 52, was the only person to test negative. The district has been one of the most affected in terms of population ration in the state.

The administration has restricted tourist movement to Teling nullah near the northern portal of the Rohtang tunnel to prevent spread. Furthermore, tourists were not allowed to enter Lahaul villages on Thursday, as the village beyond the Rohtang tunnel has been turned into buffer zones.
The village of Thorang along the Manali-Leh highway has only 42 residents, as others have migrated to Kullu for the winter, authorities said. When villagers voluntarily decided to get tested, 41 of the 42 residents were found to have the virus.
“I stay in a separate room and have been cooking my meals for the past four days. I was with members of my family until we learned the results. However, I was strict with protocols like disinfecting hands, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing in public areas. People should not take this disease lightly, ”said Bhushan, whose five family members tested positive.
The increase in cases in Lahaul Spiti villages has become a matter of concern for officials, as 856 positive people have so far been found in the district.
