The Center brings high-level teams to Himachal, UP and Punjab for Covid-19 response as virus attack states


The central government sent high-level teams to Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday in support of COVID-19 response and management in the states after an increase in cases and deaths.

While a significant increase in infections has become a cause for concern in Himachal, Punjab has seen the highest death rate in India.

“These three-member teams will visit districts that report a high number of COVID-19 cases and support the State’s efforts to strengthen containment, surveillance, testing, infection prevention and control measures, and efficient clinical management of positive cases. The core teams will also guide in the effective management of challenges related to timely diagnosis and follow-up, ”reads a press release issued by the government.

The Union Government had previously sent these high-level teams to Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Manipur, and Chhattisgarh.
