The CBSE 2021 board exam will be held safely, the program will be shared very soon

UDUPI: With a view to conducting annual board exams after a few months, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is making plans and will soon reveal how it will conduct the mock assessments, a senior official said at an ASSOCHAM webinar on Friday. .

“During March-April we were puzzled about how to move forward, but our schools and teachers rose to the occasion and were transformed, they were trained in the use of new technology for educational purposes and, in a few months, holding classes in line using different applications became normal ”. Anurag Tripathi, CBSE secretary said at an ASSOCHAM webinar on ‘New Education Policy (NEP) 2020: A Brighter Future for School Education’.

Tripathi noted that a common goal of all education policies, including NEP 2020, has been to move students from rote learning to experiential learning, saying: “The primary goal and main goal of NEP 2020 is to make a shift towards skills- and competency-based education “.

He added: “We need to move students away from knowledge-based education towards competency and skill-based learning.”

Tripathi said that NEP 2020 provides a solution that to implement education based on skills and competencies it is necessary to transform and follow the entire teaching-learning process based on pedagogy, whether in the classroom, in face-to-face or online teaching.

“The pedagogy-based teaching-learning process is more about making students more curious, innovative, creative and providing them with experiential learning and this can only be achieved when schools, teachers and principals change the pedagogy of teaching, ”said the CBSE secretary.

The only solution to this, he said, is that when selecting teachers and principals, it is important for schools to assess ability and competence. Also, how to update and train them to use the latest educational technologies.

In a nutshell, he said that NEP focuses on four aspects, namely competence-based learning skills education; transform the pedagogy of teaching, selection, recruitment, training and improvement of teachers and, finally, a 360-degree view to verify learning outcomes through an assessment test.

He urged all stakeholders to read NEP 2020 carefully to clear any doubts, promote awareness, and discuss with parents, students, and tell them how teachers need to get updated in teaching-learning pedagogy and learn new techniques.

Tripathi pointed out that NEP 2020 encourages our students to learn to stand up and contribute to the growth and development of the country. a great leap to transform the country and future generations ”.
