NEW DELHI: On Saturday, the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team and former Indian cricketer, Ravi Shastri, took a stroll down memory lane and posted a nostalgic post. Shastri took to Twitter and shared photos of himself with West Indies hitting legend Sir Vivian Richards and bowling icon Malcolm Marshall.

“Companions-at-arms. The best I played against. Privilege and honor: with Malcolm Denzil Marshall and Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards @ivivianrichards,” Shastri tweeted.

Richards, one of the best hitters to have played the game, played 121 tests and 187 ODI for his country. He scored 8,540 runs on test cricket at an average of 50.23. Richards, known for his bold and fearless hitting style, has 24 centuries of testing and 45 fifty to his credit. He also scored 11 ODI tons.


On the other hand, Marshall, who is still idolized by youngsters for his lethal fast bowling and his ability to take wickets on any surface, claimed 376 wickets in 81 Tests. He also has 157 wickets in 136 ODI that he played for the West Indies.

Marshal fired Shastri four times in his test career. In the ODI, the former bowler Windies sent Shastri back three times.

Shastri, an all-rounder, played 80 Tests and 150 ODI for India. He scored 3830 runs in Tests and 3108 runs in ODI. He also took 151 wickets in Tests and 129 wickets in ODI.
