The appeal of the ‘last elections’ means that Nitish Kumar seeks ‘mercy’ for his failure: Chidambaram | Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 Election News

NEW DELHI: Congressional Leader P Chidambaram claimed on Thursday that Bihar Prime Minister Nitish Kumar acknowledged defeat by declaring the ongoing state assembly elections to be the last elections he has participated in.
The congressional leader also claimed that the “last election” tactic was a “clemency” due to Kumar’s non-compliance.
“When Mr Nitish Kumar declares that this will be his ‘last election’, he has effectively admitted defeat,” Chidambaram said on Twitter.

The former finance minister also said that “the ‘last elections’ ploy is not a call for support based on their performance, but a request for clemency based on their failure to comply.”
“Why should the people of Bihar vote for a person who, if elected, will be a lame duck from day one?” He asked.
On the last day of campaigning for the third phase of the Bihar polls, Nitish Kumar surprised his audience with his comment that the current assembly elections in the state were the last.
The NDA chief ministerial candidate addressed a rally at Dhamdaha in the Purnea district. The campaign for the last of the three-phase elections ended on Thursday.
“Today is the last day of the campaign. The vote will take place the day after tomorrow. This is my last election (ye mere antim chunav hai). It is okay that ends well (ant bhala to sab bhala),” said Kumar.
