The 13 lakh, Ahmedabad tops the list of people under the age of containment

According to the list of areas of contention in the state issued by the department of health on Tuesday, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara have been put in the red zone. (Representation)

With five percent of the total population in the state of Gujarat put under containment (based on the data provided by the state department of health), the largest number is located in Ahmedabad. Almost 13 lakh people residing in 2,61,511 houses are contained in ten districts and one pocket of the city.

Being the city with the largest number of Covid-19 cases and mortality rate in the state of Gujarat, this is almost 23 per cent of its population (according to the 2011 census).

According to the list of areas of contention in the state issued by the department of health on Tuesday, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara have been put in the red zone. The three districts also have the highest number of cases of coronavirus in the state of Gujarat.

Of the remaining 30 districts in the state, 17 are located in the orange area, while 13 are in the green zone.

Among the eight municipal corporations, Gandhinagar has 20% of its population under containment, followed by Surat Municipal Corporation with almost 19% of its population contained in 41 different areas.

Restriction of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar that have put all of the neighborhoods and sectors, respectively, in the area of containment, other companies have been directed to clusters of residential societies or localities of a district or of the area.

While Vadodara Municipal Corporation has 90 zones declared under the containment, is equivalent to only three per cent of the population of the city.

The four companies in the Saurashtra region, has also designated a low percent of its population below the containment. For example, junagadh which was city only has an area with a population of 500 under the age of containment, which amounts to 0.15% of the population. In virtue of Rajkot city, 15 areas of residential societies are under containment, with 2.3% of the population of the city.

In the same way, the three percent of the population that resides inside of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation limits is under containment and only 2.5% of Bhavnagar of the population is under the restricted zone.
