A terrorist was killed after a meeting between security forces and terrorists in the Sharsali area of Khrew Panpore in the southern part of Awantipora in Jammu and the Pulwama district of Kashmir.
Reports suggested that a joint team of Army 50RR, CRPF 185 BN and police launched cordon and search operations in the Sharsali area of Khrew. During the cordon and search operation, there was a brief exchange of fire between security personnel and terrorists. Security forces then tightened the cord around the suspected location and killed the terrorist. There is still a search operation in the area.
Meanwhile, a massive search operation is underway in the Beighpora area of Awantipora, which is the native village of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naikoo.
On Tuesday (March 5), a staff from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) suffered minor injuries from splinters below the knee after unidentified terrorists threw a grenade at the troops of CRPF Battalion 181 in Pakherpora in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday (May 5). CRPF sources said four civilians were also injured in the incident.
The attack took place hours after a terrorist was arrested by security forces in Gundana Tehsil, in the Doda district. He has been identified as Tanveer Ahmad Malik. However, the security forces have not yet determined Tanveer’s group affiliation.
