Tencent has lost around $ 34 billion in just two days

The recent ban of the popular mobile game PUBG Mobile has hit the Indian gaming community hard, but not as hard as game developer Tencent. According to a report, the Chinese tech giant has lost $ 34 billion in terms of market value, just one day after the ban on 118 Chinese apps in India. In addition to PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, Chess Run, and Ludo World have also been blocked, all of which have a partnership with Tencent and are being considered for the company’s downfall in the market.

PUBG Mobile has been Tencent’s biggest source of revenue in India among all the games it offers, with around 30 million daily active users. India is also the leading country in terms of total number of active users around the world, making it the most important market for Tencent. Since the announcement of the ban, Tencent’s shares have continuously fallen from 545 Hong Kong dollars to 519 Hong Kong dollars. Tencent recently faced a major hit after the company’s WeChat app was banned last month in the US on national security grounds.

PUBG Mobile has been removed from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. While the game is still live and available to users who have it installed on their phones, it won’t be long before the ISPs are ordered to completely block the game. This is not the first time we have heard about the game ban as there have been cases in the past where certain cities considered banning PUBG Mobile because it affected the minds of the younger audience. There were several cases in which students were so addicted to gambling that it led to poor concentration in studies, abuse, theft and, in some cases, suicide.
