Telangana, Rajasthan, Chosen for Vaccine Software Trial by Central Government

Hyderabad: The central government has selected the state of Telangana and Rajasthan for the trial of the Covid-19 vaccine once it was approved as safe by the Comptroller General of Drugs of India (DCGI). In the process, the two states will also conduct trials of the Covid-19 Vaccine Intelligence Network. Online training for staff will begin on December 3.

Healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, paramedical personnel, hospital administration personnel, and others, are on the first list for the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine.

District health and medical officials in the health department are collecting data for the vaccination regimen and have asked nursing homes, private and government hospitals for their staffing details.

The cold chain assembly trial is being carried out at the Abids primary care center. The cold chain should maintain the two-dose vaccination regimen on day 0 and day 28.

The core team will also analyze data and logistical support to ensure effective implementation.

However, doctors in public and private hospitals are wary of being part of the vaccination test and have refused to participate in the vaccination regimen.

A senior doctor on condition of anonymity says: “All healthcare workers must be immunized with the highest priority! Is this a way to get volunteers for mass immunization programs even before the third and fourth stages of clinical trials are not over? “

Doctors say their opinion on whether they want to be vaccinated was not taken during the trial. Many of the doctors were of the opinion that they will not respond to the vaccination call. Several others, however, feel that a DCGI-approved vaccine will be safe and believe the government will approve the vaccine that is 80 percent efficient.

Another group of doctors claimed that they have been taking prophylaxis (treatment to prevent illness) and have treated hundreds of patients with Covid-19. So why should they get vaccinated now? They question.

Indian TS Medical Association Vice President Dr Sanjiv Singh Yadav said: “The efficacy of the vaccine is the most important criterion and there are past experiences showing that it takes years to determine the efficacy in different population groups.”

Experts say there should be consensus among the medical community before finalizing the vaccine administration program.
