Earlier this year, Rohit was ruled out of the New Zealand tour after sustaining a calf injury. The Rohit trio, Ishant sharma (tear of the abdominal muscle) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (leg injury) is not part of the tour due to various injuries.
“The BCCI medical team will continue to monitor the progress of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma,” a BCCI statement said Monday.
It is not known if Rohit will continue to participate in the ongoing IPL, but sources indicated that it could be in shape by November 4. “In Ishant’s case, however, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has set a ‘deadline’ for him to recover before November 18, after which he needs to train for three to four weeks after recovery. Only one call will be taken about Ishant’s listing next month, which basically means that he is unlikely to land in Australia for this series, “a source said.
The long run includes three T20 Internationals, as many ODIs and four tests. It will begin with the first T20I on November 27.
