Team India to head to Australia without Rohit and Ishant for now | Cricket news

MUMBAI: In a big setback for India, the first and second captain of limited overs Rohit sharma was ruled out on Monday due to a hamstring injury suffered during the 2020 IPL of the team’s tour to Australia, as the selectors chose a jumbo team for the trip.
Earlier this year, Rohit was ruled out of the New Zealand tour after sustaining a calf injury. The Rohit trio, Ishant sharma (tear of the abdominal muscle) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (leg injury) is not part of the tour due to various injuries.
“The BCCI medical team will continue to monitor the progress of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma,” a BCCI statement said Monday.
It is not known if Rohit will continue to participate in the ongoing IPL, but sources indicated that it could be in shape by November 4. “In Ishant’s case, however, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has set a ‘deadline’ for him to recover before November 18, after which he needs to train for three to four weeks after recovery. Only one call will be taken about Ishant’s listing next month, which basically means that he is unlikely to land in Australia for this series, “a source said.

The long run includes three T20 Internationals, as many ODIs and four tests. It will begin with the first T20I on November 27.
In Rohit’s absence, the report KL Rahul has been promoted as vice-captain of the limited sides. The selectors have been left out Rishabh pants of the cue ball squads and Rahul will keep lands in the shorter formats.
Sanju Samson, who has had a hot and cold hit IPL so far, has retained his spot on the T20 squad. Rahul, by the way, has also returned to the 18-man squad for the Border-Gavaskar four-test series, which will begin with the first test in Adelaide on December 17. In a brave move, the selectors have included the Tamil Nadu mystery spinner ‘ Varun Chakravarthy, who took a fifth on Saturday against Delhi Capitals for the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, on the T20 side. Chakravarthy is the fourth spinner of the T20 team, in addition Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Unsurprisingly, with Ishant still recovering from his injury, young pacemakers Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Siraj, who have impressed with pace and control in the IPL, found a place on the test team.
Unfortunately for him, Suryakumar Yadav continues to be ignored despite producing some hot performances for MI at this IPL. Despite the bad form in the IPL, Ajinkya rahane Y Prithvi Shaw have been included on the test side.
Four additional bowlers – Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kartik Tyagi, Ishan Porel and T Natarajan – will travel with the Indian contingent.
