GANDHIDHAM: A Tanishq Jewelry Showroom in Gandhidham city ​​of GujaratThe Kutch district has put a note on their door, apologizing to the Hindus in the district for the mark controversial television ad which has been withdrawn. The Gujarati handwritten note also condemned the television commercial.
“We apologize to the Hindu community in Kutch for the embarrassing announcement of Tanishq,” the note read. It was taped to the door of the showroom on October 12 and has since been removed, police said.
Photos of the apology note they have gone viral on social media.
The showroom manager and local police debunked media reports that the showroom was attacked by some people angry at Tanishq’s announcement.
“No such attack has taken place,” said Kutch-East Police Superintendent Mayur Patil.
The television commercial featured a Muslim family preparing for their Hindu daughter-in-law’s upcoming baby shower.
The Tanishq jewelry brand is a division of the Titan company, promoted by the Tata Group in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation.
