Vadivel Balaji got his prefix after imitating the famous Kollywood comedian Vadivelu.

The actor made his debut with the Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru television show on Vijay TV, after which he became a household name. He later appeared on the popular television show Adhu, Idhu, Edhu hosted by Shivakarthikeyan.

He was part of a popular segment on the show where he was supposed to make contestants laugh and Vadivel did it effortlessly.

However, Vadivel Balaji’s film debut was with Nayanthara in Kolamaavu Kokila. He was one of the few Tamil actors to successfully transition from television to the big screen.
