Talks with farmers’ unions can take place in the next 2-3 days, says Khattar after meeting with Tomar | India News


NEW DELHI: The Haryana chief minister ML Khattar on Saturday he said he believed the talk with the protest farmersThe unions could be held in the next 2-3 days and a solution could be found through discussion.
Khattar’s comments came after his meeting with the Union’s agriculture minister, Narendra Singh Tomar.
“I have said that this problem should be solved soon,” Khattar said.
As more and more farmers from Haryana also began to gather at the borders in solidarity with their Punjab counterparts, Khattar met with Tomar hee at the latter’s residence and discussed issues related to the agitation of farmers and the exchange of water from the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal with Punjab.
“I appeal to the Punjab to seriously consider the SYL channel issue. Farmers in Haryana are battling irrigation shortages. I have raised this issue. We demand that the construction of the SYL canal be completed, ”Khattar said after the meeting.
Haryana MLAs and MPs had also met with the minister of Tomar and ‘Jal Shakti’ (water resources) Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on the SYL channel topic earlier this week.
