TAIPEI: Taiwan will provide the people of Hong Kong with “the necessary assistance”, the Chairman Tsai Ing-wen, said, after a resurgence of the protests in Chinese ruled the territory against the proposed new national security legislation, Beijing.
Taiwan has become a haven for a small but growing number of pro-democracy protesters fleeing in Hong Kong, which has been convulsed since last year by the protests.

Writing on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon, Tsai said that the proposal of law was a serious threat to Hong Kong’s freedoms and the independence of the judiciary.

“In the face of the evolution of the situation, the international community has proactively reached out his hand to help Hong Kong people,” Tsai wrote.
