A day after actress Payal Ghosh accused director Anurag Kashyap of sexual assault, several ‘feminists’ and ‘liberals’ took to Twitter to blame the victim and absolve her of all accusations.
Taapsee Pannu, a ‘feminist’ and women’s rights champion, gave an appropriate response. In an Instagram post, she declared the defendant the ‘greatest feminist’. Praising her work to advance the cause of ‘women’s empowerment’, the actress wrote: “See you soon on the sets of another piece of art that shows how powerful and meaningful women are in the world you create :)”
Ironically, Taapsee previously had not been so kind to other men accused of similar charges.

In 2018, at the height of the #MeTooIndia movement, Taaspee had claimed that the movement to expose sexual abuse in the film and entertainment industry will not come to a productive conclusion until people within the industry stop celebrating the accused and the culprit. He had even gone so far as to say that shame increases if women themselves do not support the movement. It seems that Taapsee will soon be ashamed of herself.

Sexual assault charges against Anurag Kashyap
