New Delhi: In the latest development of the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the forensic team at AIIMS, which is investigating tampering with evidence, has suggested that the most important viscera extracted from the body of the late actor were not properly preserved.

According to the IANS, the viscera received by the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the Institute of Medical Sciences of India (AIIMS) are “of very little quantity and degenerate”, as revealed to IANS sources highly located in AIIMS.

Meanwhile, the AIIMS team will also meet with the Central Bureau of Investigation SIT today and is likely to present its findings today.

As of Friday night, the viscera, which hold the key to determining the cause of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, were being examined at AIIMS forensic department in New Delhi. “The viscera have degenerated. That makes chemical and toxicological analysis very difficult,” the sources added.

This is a significant advance as the AIIMS forensic expert final report led by Dr. Sudhir Gupta does not rule out foul play in the Bollywood actor’s death, Times Now’s Aruneel Sadadekar reports.

Maha government and Mumbai police dock in SSR death case

If proven, it will be a great blow to the Mumbai police and the Maharashtra government because the State Interior Minister openly announced the day after the actor’s death that it was a clear case of suicide. No investigation was conducted from the perspective of the homicide.

AIIMS experts were flown from Delhi to Mumbai to conduct an on-site assessment of the sequence of events and examine documents related to forensic science.

Early next week, forensic experts from AIIMS and CBI officials will hold a conclusive discussion on the cause of death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who was reportedly found hanging in the bedroom of his duplex apartment in Bandra on June 14th.

However, a senior IPS official in the Mumbai police said that every effort was made to preserve all forensic samples, documentary evidence and other materials related to the case.

“We have been investigating a number of sensitive and high-profile cases. The Mumbai police are completely professional when it comes to the quality of the investigation,” the officer said.
