Pune:

The head of the NCP, Sharad Pawar, said Tuesday that the investigation into the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has gone in “another direction.”

Speaking to journalists in Pandharpur, Solapur district, Mr. Pawar appeared to question the progress made by the CBI in its investigation of the case, which was initially investigated by the Mumbai police.

He also dismissed any politics behind the much-talked about meeting between Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis last week.

When asked about Union Minister Ramdas Athawale’s suggestion that Pawar join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in case Shiv Sena doesn’t forge ties with former BJP ally, Pawar said no one takes seriously to the head of RPI (A) both inside and outside. Parliament.

Speaking about the Sushant Singh Rajput case, he said: “It could be because the central government did not trust the Mumbai police, so the investigation of the case was handed over to another agency (CBI).”

“What light (CBI) have shed on the case, we haven’t seen it yet. Suicide (angle) aside, now strange things are coming to light. Now the investigation of the case has gone in another direction,” he said. adding that things will become clear once the truth comes out.

The veteran politician was apparently referring to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which was expanding its investigation into the alleged link between Bollywood and drugs that emerged from the Rajput death case.

When asked about Athawale’s comments, Pawar said: “Does your (Ramdas Athawale’s) party have only one MLA or one MP? He speaks up, he gives advice, but no one takes him seriously, in Parliament or outside.” .

Athawale had asked the Shiv Sena to meet with the BJP to form a government in Maharashtra and also suggested a formula for sharing power between the two saffron parties.

Responding to a question about the Fadnavis-Raut meeting, Pawar, whose party is part of the Seine-led government of Maha Vikas Aghadi, said: “If a reporter or a newspaper editor interviews leaders of different parties, don’t it means it is associated with that party. “

“When Raut interviewed me (for Sena spokesperson ‘Saamana’), he announced that he would interview Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Raut also clarified that he would interview BJP leaders. I don’t think there is a need to comment on that,” he said.

Pawar said the (Fadnavis) interview will be conducted and published, “but it will have no effect on state policy.”

Speaking about the Maratha reserve, which was recently suspended by the supreme court, the head of the PNC said that the central government and the BJP are supporting Rajya Sabha MPs Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje and Chhatrapati Udayan Raje Bhosale, and “must take the initiative to solve this problem. “
