Mumbai:

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, is back on Twitter and Instagram after she deactivated their accounts on Wednesday.

Kirti has been at the forefront of the #JusticeForSSR campaign since her brother’s death on June 14.

Earlier in the day, multiple users noted that Ms. Kirti’s Twitter and Instagram pages were inaccessible. It was unclear if Kirti herself deactivated her accounts, as she did not announce that she would be leaving social media before her profiles disappeared.

The deactivation had perplexed many Sushant Singh Rajput fans, who took to Twitter sharing screenshots of it.

Later, Kirti returned to social media, saying there were “attempts” by unknown people to log into her accounts.

“Sorry, there were several attempts to log into my social media accounts so I had to disable them,” he wrote after returning to Twitter.

Sushant Singh Sajput’s death sparked discussions about the industry’s nepotistic nature and its vigilante attitude, but it took a completely different angle after the actor’s family brought a case against his girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty.

The late actor’s family, known for films such as Kai Po Che !, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Chhichhore, accused Chakraborty of inciting the actor’s death, laundering his money and isolating him from his family.

The case, which was initially investigated by the Mumbai Police, was later turned over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) also became involved.

Ms. Chakraborty, who was arrested by the OCN in connection with the drug trail in Mr. Rajput’s death, was released on October 7 after 28 days in jail. His brother Showik Chakraborty is still in prison.
