Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh meets with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna

Patna / New Delhi:

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father met today with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the state capital Patna to thank the head of Janata Dal United for recommending an IWC investigation into his son’s death. .

Seated at a distance from each other and wearing masks (COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Bihar), the Chief Minister and the actor’s father, KK Singh, exchanged greetings before moving on to briefly discuss the case. Mr. Singh was accompanied by his eldest daughter and her husband, an officer from the Indian Police Service.

Singh claimed that if the Chief Minister of Bihar had not intervened and recommended an IWC investigation into the death of his son, the Maharashtra government would have closed the case.

The Patna-born actor was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14. Finally, Singh filed a First Informational Report in Patna against his son’s friend and actress Rhea Chakraborty, alleging that she financially cheated her son and led him to suicide.

Almost two months later, the Bihar government asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to take over the case, which meant that the Patna Police and the Mumbai Police would no longer pursue him.

The chief minister reportedly told Mr. Singh and his family that the state government felt something was wrong when the Maharashtra police failed to cooperate with the Patna police officers who had come to Mumbai to investigate the case. An officer from the Bihar Indian Police Service was kept in quarantine for hours after landing in Mumbai on August 3. The Bihar government decided to allow the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the case due to these incidents, the Chief Minister said.

The high-profile case has seen twists and turns from money laundering accusations to drug deals. The drugs angle is being reversed by the Bureau of Narcotics Control or NCB, which has already questioned several prominent Bollywood figures such as Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan.

Some ruling party leaders in Maharashtra have alleged that the Bihar government politicized the actor’s death with an eye toward state elections scheduled for next month. Former Bihar Police Chief Gupteshwar Pandey, who asked what Rhea Chakraborty’s “aukat” (status) was after the Supreme Court allowed the IWC investigation, has now joined Nitish Kumar’s JDU after retiring. in advance.

The JDU leaders have said that they are not politicizing the death of the Rajput, but considering the sentiment of the people in the state, they want justice for the “talented actor”.

The Shiv Sena in Maharashtra had alleged that the Chief Minister of Bihar wants to capitalize on the wave of sympathy for the actor’s family ahead of the three-phase elections to be held on October 28, November 3 and 7.
