Sushant Singh Rajput's face revealed that he was innocent, sober: Bombay High Court

Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead in his suburban residence on June 14, 2020.

Mumbai:

On Thursday, the Bombay High Court praised the work of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the movie “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story” and said that on the actor’s face you could tell that he was a good human being.

The comments were made by a court of judges SS Shinde and MS Karnik while reserving their verdict on a petition filed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, who sought to overturn an FIR for alleged falsification and manufacture of a prescription. medical for her brother.

“Whatever the case … one could tell from Sushant Singh Rajput’s face that he was innocent and sober … and a good human being,” Judge Shinde said.

“Everyone liked it, especially in that MS Dhoni movie,” added the judge.

The FIR was brought against Priyanka Singh, Meetu Singh and Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi by Bandra Suburban Police on 7 September based on a complaint from Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty.

According to the complaint, the sisters and the doctor prepared a fake and fabricated prescription for antidepressants for their brother.

Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead in his suburban residence on June 14, 2020.

His father, KK Singh, later brought a case of instigation to suicide and cheating against Chakraborty and his relatives.

The case is being investigated by the IWC.

The Bandra police, after the FIR registration against the sisters of Sushant Singh Rajput, forwarded the case documents to the IWC on the instructions of the Supreme Court, which had said that all cases related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput will be investigated by the CBI.

On Thursday, lead attorney Vikas Singh, who appeared on behalf of the sisters, argued that telemedicine practice guidelines allowed a doctor to prescribe medication after an online consultation.

He added that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sushant Singh Rajput was unable to go for a physical consultation. Singh added that even assuming such a prescription was purchased, there was no evidence to show that Sushant Singh Rajput used any medications.

However, lead attorney Devdutt Kamat, who appeared for the Mumbai police, claimed that no online consultation was conducted in this case.

He said that the WhatsApp chat between Sushant Singh Rajput and her sister on June 8, 2020 clearly shows that Priyanka Singh obtained the prescription without any consultation between the doctor and the patient.

“The police have evidence to show that an unidentified man went to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital OPD on June 8, 2020 and took a file and then a prescription from the accused doctor Tarun Kumar,” Kamat said.

He added that in accordance with legal provisions, the Mumbai police registered FIR after receiving a complaint and sent it to the CBI.

Lawyer Satish Maneshinde, appearing for Chakraborty, requested that the petition be dismissed, saying that one of the circumstances that may have led to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput was the “dangerous cocktail of drugs and narcotics and medicines.”

“Sushant Singh Rajput was in Rhea’s care for 14 months prior to June 8, 2020 when she asked her to leave the house. During that period, Rhea made sure that Sushant Singh Rajput took her medications and never mixed them with drugs. “Maneshinde said.

“Sushant Singh Rajput’s cook and servant on June 8, 2020 saw the actor roll four joints (drugs) and put them in a box. On June 14, when the actor was found dead in his room, the box was empty. He has been informed by the servant to the authorities, ”he said.

Maneshinde added that the CBI must investigate the case and if it concludes that there is no case, then it can file a closing report.

“The plaintiff then has the option of filing a protest petition. To annul the FIR at this stage would be premature,” he told the court.

The court ordered the attorneys to submit their submissions in writing and reserved their order.
