The doctor, who according to Rhea Chakraborty had allegedly treated Sushant Singh Rajput after a ‘depressive episode’ in 2013, has said that his only visit with Sushant was in 2014, and it was for insomnia.
In his statement to the Mumbai police, accessed by India Today, the doctor said: “In 2014, Sushant Singh Rajput visited my clinic in Andheri. He didn’t have an appointment to see me. This time the clinic was full of people and there were many people inside. Sushant then told me that he could not provide all the details of his ailment at the time and that, if necessary, he would come see me again. He told me that he suffered from insomnia and insomnia. So, I looked and looked at Sushant and found no serious problem at the time. For insomnia and insomnia, I prescribed a medication and gave him a future date for the appointment. “
The doctor said Sushant never came for the follow-up appointment. He also highlighted his methods, which include asking the patient if he has suicidal thoughts. He said: “When treating or examining any patient, I ask for detailed information. During the primary exam, I ask if they have suicidal thoughts. Whether they fear something or have some kind of phobia. If you are getting enough sleep and if your appetite is normal. Only after that, as necessary, I prescribe drugs to patients. Patients are also asked to make regular follow-up visits. If necessary, I also refer them to other psychiatrists ”.

Rhea Chakraborty, in an interview for India Today, mentioned the name of Harish Shetty, when she recalled that Sushant told her that she had a depressive episode in 2013 and that she visited the doctor.
She said that during his trip to Europe in 2019, when Sushant’s mental health deteriorated, he had told her that he had experienced depression in 2013. “When I asked him what was happening, he told me that in 2013, he had a depressive episode and met a psychiatrist named Harish Shetty. She told me that the same doctor advised her to take Modafinil,. [the medicine that] took flight. He told me he was fine after that. After that, he now felt more depressed and anxious. Then we interrupt the trip and return. “
Earlier, Susan Walker, Sushant and Rhea’s psychiatrist, had told journalist Barkha Dutt that Sushant suffered from bipolar disorder.
Sushant died on June 14. The case is being investigated by the Central Investigation Office, the Narcotics Control Office and the Enforcement Directorate. Rhea has been accused by Sushant’s father of having instigated her suicide and misappropriation of her funds.
