MUMBAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday (September 12) conducted raids at nearly seven locations in Mumbai and Goa in connection with the drugs angle that has emerged in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
A high-level meeting will reportedly be held at the NCB Mumbai office later in the day to chart the next course of action in the case.
In the latest development on the drug-related angle, Zee News learned that Rhea Chakraborty allegedly confessed to the central investigative agency that actress Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet, designer Simone Khambatta, Sushant’s friend and former manager. During the NCB investigation, it was discovered that Showik Chakraborty and Dipesh Sawant used the courier service to deliver medications from Sushant’s home to Rhea’s home in April amid the shutdown. The courier has confirmed that he picked up the messenger from Dipesh Shawant and was handed over to Showik Chakraborty in the middle of the lockdown, sources said.
In the statement, the courier has revealed that he took a courier from Dipesh’s Sushant home and delivered it to Rhea Chakraborty’s home, where Showik Chakraborty received the package containing half a kilogram of drugs.
According to sources, Dipesh and Showik’s phone number was stored on the courier’s mobile. The details of the call between the courier, Showik and Dipesh have also confirmed this movement of the drugs, the sources said. Cross-examination with Dipesh, Showik and Courier boy have been conducted in this regard.
On Friday, a special court in Mumbai rejected the bail declaration of Rhea, Showik and others in relation to the drug angle related to Sushant’s death case. The NDPS special court also rejected the bail declaration of Abdul Basit, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda, who were arrested by the NCB in the case.
