Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: NCB Arrests Six People in Mumbai, Goa


In its ongoing investigation linked to the drug angle in the death case of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested six people from Mumbai and Goa on Saturday. The NCB first arrested a 23-year-old Bandra resident identified as Karam Jeet Singh Anand alias KJ and recovered marijuana and hashish from him.

According to NCB officials, Karam Jeet was part of the drug syndicate he had arrested as part of the ongoing investigations. Sameer Wankhede, deputy director of the NCB, confirmed the arrest. However, OCN officials did not disclose the amount of drugs seized.

Later, NCB officials arrested Dwayne Anthony Fernandes and two other Dadar people with 500 grams of marijuana. The NCB then arrested 29-year-old Ankush Arenja from Powai and recovered 42 grams of hashish and Rs 1.12,000 in cash from him. According to OCN officials, Arenja used to receive the contraband from Karam Jeet and hand it over to the arrested defendant Anuj Keshwani.

“The NCB also arrested Chris Costa from Goa in the same case. The investigation is ongoing, ”said KPS Deputy Director Malhotra.

The OCN had carried out raids at various locations in the western suburbs, including Bandra, Khar, Lokhandwala and the Powai area.

So far, the NCB has arrested a total of 16 defendants in the case, including Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s home manager Samuel Miranda, domestic helper Dipesh Sawant , the drug traffickers Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar; Kaizan Ebrahim, Karna Arora, Abbas Lakhani, and Anuj Keshwani.

Rhea, Showik, Miranda, Sawant, Vilatra and Parihar are in judicial custody after the NDPS court rejected their request for bail on Friday. Arora, Lakhani and Ibrahim were released on bail shortly after being sent into judicial custody a week ago. Keshwani is in NCB custody until September 14.

The NCB had seized contraband 590 grams of hashish, 0.64 grams of LSD leaves, 304 grams of marijuana, including imported marijuana joints and capsules, and cash worth 1.85,200 rupees and 5,000 Indonesian currency from the residence of Keshwani in Khar on September 6. Keshwani’s was arrested based on Ebrahim’s statement that revealed that he used to buy drugs from Keshwani.
