Sushant Singh Rajput case: Office of Narcotics Control arrives at Rhea Chakraborty’s residence

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrived at actor Rhea Chakraborty’s residence in Mumbai on Friday to conduct a search operation. So far, NCB has arrested five people related to drugs in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, the ANI news agency reported.

The agency said Wednesday that it arrested Abdul Basit Parihar of Bandra in Mumbai. “He had a connection with Samuel Miranda. Miranda is accused of acquiring drugs on instructions from Showik Chakraborty (the brother of the first defendant and Rajput’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty), ”NCB told the ANI news agency.

Miranda is the former Rajput cleaning manager. He was named by Rhea Chakraborty in May of last year. He used to manage all the household expenses. The Rajput family has made serious accusations against Miranda, of helping Chakraborty divert her money and supplying her with drugs.

The NCB also arrested Zaid Vilatra of Mumbai in connection with the case, ANI reported. Zaid is understood to be involved in supplying narcotics such as buds or cured marijuana to high-level party circles in Mumbai, the PTI news agency reported citing NCB officials.

Detectives with the agency claimed he was arrested after they obtained some “vital leads” about the narcotics case filed against Chakraborty and others, according to PTI.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also investigating the case. He called Chakraborty’s father for a second round of questioning on Wednesday. The agency had questioned Rhea Chakraborty’s parents for the first time in connection with the Rajput’s death on Tuesday.

His father Indrajeet Chakraborty and his mother Sandhya arrived at the DRDO guesthouse in the suburbs of Kalina, where the CBI investigation team is stationed, around 11 a.m. and left in the evening after almost eight hours of questioning.

The CBI continued the questioning of his brother Showik, who was called in for questioning for the first time last week, also on Tuesday, an official said.

Rhea Chakraborty and her parents are among those named in the FIR registered by the Patna Police following a complaint from the Rajput family who have accused her of being an accessory to his suicide and misappropriation of the actor’s money.

The 28-year-old actress has been questioned for about 35 hours by the CBI in the past four days.

Rajput (34) was found dead in his apartment in the suburbs of Bandra on June 14. The Supreme Court confirmed last week the transfer of the FIR hosted in Patna to the CBI.
