Sushant Singh Rajput case: Maharashtra Congress raises questions about central agencies investigation – mumbai news

Claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is highlighting cases related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR) for the upcoming Bihar elections, the Maharashtra Congress on Wednesday also raised questions about the central agencies investigation.

In a series of tweets, Maharashra Congressional General Secretary and Speaker Sachin Sawant said that the voluntary retirement taken by Bihar Police Director General Gupteshwar Pandey “shed light on the conspiracy.” Sharing a news report on Pandey’s resignation and reported plans to fight Bihar’s elections, Sawant said the police officer was being “rewarded.”

“It is a great conspiracy to smear Maharashtra and reduce its national importance. Bihar DGP, which was used in this episode, is being blatantly rewarded. BJP does not sympathize with SSR, but saw the political opportunity to use his death for the Bihar elections and now for the new film city, ”Sawant tweeted.

In another tweet, he questioned why no arrests were made on FIR 15/2020, recorded in connection with the actor’s death. “NCB is headed by Modiji’s blue-eyed boy, who should answer why the agency did not investigate the Bollywood drug business earlier despite having its office in Mumbai. All arrests are made on FIR 16/2020, which deals with drug trafficking and is not related to the SSR case. The OCN should clarify and educate us on why it has dropped the RSS case and why the government told parliament that no actionable inputs were found that reveal a link between the film industry and drug trafficking, ”Sawant said.

He also alleged that it is an attempt to control and twist the arm of the film industry. He said the investigation that started around the SSR death case turned to nepotism, the murder conspiracy and then to drug trafficking and Bollywood’s nexus with it.

Sawant said that the investigation by all central agencies, including NCB, CBI and the Directorate of Enforcement, has raised many questions that the party will ask in the coming days.

Reacting to Sawant’s attack, BJP spokesman Keshav Upadhye said: “All central agencies have been investigating the cases based on the facts and evidence they have found. We do not need to use these cases for elections in any state. We have already clarified that the Bihar elections will be contested in the development plan. There is no need to take Sawant and his accusations seriously, as he is known for his baseless ravings. “
