Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik’s application for bail has been reserved by the Bombay High Court. They were arrested by the Office of Narcotics Control for drug-related matters, which arose during the investigation into the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea was arrested on September 8 and Showik was taken into NCB custody on September 4. After her arrest, Rhea was sent to Byculla Jail while Showik is housed in Taloga Central Jail.

On Monday, the Office of Narcotics Control had filed affidavits opposing Rhea and Showik’s request for bail. NCB affidavits, filed by NCB area director Sameer Wankhede, stated that there was enough evidence to show that Rhea financed the drug trade, “Electronic evidence, such as WhatsApp chats, records were recovered mobile phone, laptop and hard drive and indicated the payment. made for drugs. Therefore, there is ample evidence to show that the current plaintiff (Rhea Chakraborty) has not only been busy regularly but has also financed illicit drug trafficking. ”

The OCN also stated in its affidavit that, despite being aware of the fact that Sushant Singh Rajput used drugs, Rhea ‘harbored’ and ‘concealed’ him, “It is further alleged that if you look at the general scenario, then the current applicant (Rhea) being aware of the fact that Sushant Singh Rajput, being a drug user, has harbored and concealed it while using drugs. This would be equivalent to hosting. The present applicant also allowed Sushant Singh Rajput residence for drug storage and consumption ”. In her arguments, Rhea Chakrabroty’s lawyer, Satish Manshinde, had wondered how Sushant could be accommodated in her own home. She also claimed that during the entire NCB investigation, there was no record that the investigating agency was collecting material from Sushant Singh Rajput’s phone or her transactions.
