Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai home on June 14. Vikas Singh, the lawyer representing Sushant’s family in the case, told a news conference last week that the family is disappointed with the direction the investigation is heading. Referring to the NCB investigation, which has broadened its scope to investigate Bollywood’s alleged links to drug traffickers and cartels, the chief advocate said Sushant’s death appears to have “faded into the background.”
“Why is CBI turning this into a murder by conspiracy? The investigation is not on the right track. I will not say that I am not happy with CBI, but what worries me is the lack of importance that the case is taking on, ”he said, adding that the family feels ‘powerless’.
Shweta had previously tweeted that the family is eagerly awaiting an update on the investigation into Sushant’s death. “We have been so patient for so long! How long will it take to find the truth? #SSRDeathCase, ”he had written.
