Sushant Rajput death case: Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik was arrested by NCB

Mumbai:

Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s brother, Showik, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Samuel Miranda, who were arrested on Friday night and charged under multiple sections of the anti-narcotics law, were sent into the custody of the Bureau of Narcotics today. Narcotics Control (NCB) until September 9.

In his request for pre-trial detention, filed in the Mumbai court on Saturday afternoon, the OCN said that Chakraborty, who has “given so many names to those he trafficked in drugs,” will now face his sister Rhea and other arrested people in relation to this case.

“There are specific roles / ingredients of criminal conspiracy, complicity, and various attempts to commit crimes,” the NCB document said, adding that “the financial trail of all prior drug purchase transactions has to be verified.”

Ms Chakraborty, who has been accused of participating in the death of Mr Rajput, is likely to be summoned tomorrow for questioning by the OCN.

The NCB, which is investigating the drug abuse allegations surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June, also received custody of Kaizan Ibrahim, an alleged drug trafficker, for 14 days.

According to the NCB’s request for pre-trial detention, one Abdul Basit Parihar “facilitated (the sale of) drugs (marijuana / ganja) and was in contact with Samuel Miranda and Showik Chakraborty.”

“He used to pay and receive money through credit cards / cash and payment gateways,” the NCB told the court, adding that he was an “active member of the drug syndicate connected to high-profile personalities and drug suppliers. “.

Previous NCB sources said Miranda paid for the drugs with Google Pay.

Overall, Parihar enabled the sale of drugs through Kaizan Ibrahim and Zaid Vilatra, the NCB said today, adding that all three are currently in his custody.

Early Friday, a joint team of NCB officials and police raided the homes of Showik Chakraborty, who lives with his sister, and Samuel Miranda.

KPS Malhotra, NCB’s deputy director of operations, who is leading this investigation, told reporters that the raid was “procedural.” Another official said the agency was looking to gather additional evidence.

So far, the OCN has arrested seven people, including Mr. Chakraborty, Mr. Miranda, Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar.

Kaizan Ibrahim has been questioned since Thursday.

Parihar is believed to have “ties” to the narcotics case against Rhea Chakraborty and others, the PTI news agency previously reported. It is linked to a person who, in turn, allegedly appeared in the chats retrieved from Rhea and Showik’s mobile phone.

Rhea Chakraborty has been charged in the death of the 34-year-old actor.

The case is being investigated by three central agencies: the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the NCB and the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), which is investigating the money laundering charges.

The NCB began its investigation following input from the ED.

The NCB has said it is investigating “the drug citadel in Mumbai, and especially Bollywood” in this case.

According to officials, the conversations and messages from the mobile phones indicated the acquisition, transport and consumption of drugs, and the ED shared these leads with the NCB and the CBI.
