The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) claims that Rhea Chakraborty was arrested because of her ties to the drug union. The agency claims her statement was also one of the reasons she was arrested. The NCB is investigating the angle of drugs in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
“The Narcotics Control Office (NCB) received an official communication from the Supervision Directorate, in which several talks were held related to the consumption, acquisition, use and transport of drugs. Upon learning of the matter, NCB conducted a preliminary investigation and launched an investigation into this matter, ”the agency said.

The NCB claims that based on the network analysis carried out at the technical level, the links were explored and one of the network nodes was broken. “A raid was carried out in Mumbai and two people, namely Abbas Lakhani and Karn Arora, were arrested and the seizure of buds (cured marijuana) was affected by their possession. Detailed analysis of the network and follow-up investigation uncovered Abbas Lakhani’s ties to one Zaid Vilatra, ”the agency added.
Taking evidence in the file, Zaid was detained by NCB. The agency subsequently recovered Indian currency (Rs 9.55,750) and foreign currency (US $ 2,081,180 British pounds, 15 dirham), which Zaid disclosed as drug trafficking proceeds.
“Zaid revealed that he has a restaurant in Bandra, which was not giving any financial gain since closing. He also revealed that he is especially interested in drug trafficking, through which he used to earn a substantial amount of money, ”said NCB.
Based on his questioning, Basit Parihar, a Bandra resident, was forced to join the investigation. It was learned that Basit’s links to those previously recorded were found, that is, based on a preliminary investigation into the details submitted by ED, and an additional matter is being investigated.
Additionally, according to the NCB, Basit Parihar stated that he used to get buds and weed for his friend Showik Chakraborty.
Later, Showik was asked to join the investigation in which he accepted that he used to obtain grass and sprouts through Basit Parihar and Kaizan Ebrahim and passed it on to his sister Rhea Chakraborty, who also passed it on to Sushant Singh. Rajput.
“Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant used to collect such contraband and hand it over to Sushant Singh Rajput after making joints. Rhea Chakraborty was arrested after her voluntary statement. Meanwhile, Kaizan was arrested where he claimed that he used to purchase medicine from an Anuj Keshwani, ”NCB said.
Anuj Keshwani was detained at his residence in Bandra. During the search, Charas 585 g, Ganja 270.12 g, THC 3.6 g, LSD 0.62 g were seized along with INR 1.85,200. It revealed the name of Karanjeet Mumbai, officials said.
“In the course of the further investigation, Karanjeet, Fernandis, Gupta, Aftaab Mohammad, Ankush and Sanket were arrested and the seizure of Ganja 500 g, Hash 42 g, Hash 4 g, Ganja 17 g was made. Indian currency worth Rs 7,12,400 was also seized. A Mercedes M-Class was also seized, ”said NCB.
In Rhea, NCB claims she was arrested because of her ties to the Drug Trafficking Network. “Her statement was also recorded in criminal case number 15/2020, in which she delved into other aspects, where violations of provisions of the NDPS were noted. The digital forensic analysis of the seized communication devices led to some viable information that was subsequently verified, ”said the OCN.
Jayanti Saha, Shruti Modi, Madhu Mantenimientona and Simone Khambatta were examined by the OCN. Today, actress Rakul Preet and Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma have joined the investigation.
