Suryakumar Yadav is a name that has come up over and over again for much of the 2020 IPL. His excellent performances for the Mumbai Indians received high praise from many former cricketers. Suryakumar Yadav has also been in the news for a couple of other reasons. One is his omission of the Indian teams for the Australia tour, and the other his now famous showdown with Virat Kohli during a 2020 IPL match between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The stylish right-hander finally broke his silence on the incident and the conversation that took place with the RCB boss after the match.
During the match, Suryakumar remained calm even as Virat Kohli stared at him during the crucial tie. Kohli was seen walking towards Suryakumar as the ball flashed and stared at him.
The IM batter stood his ground, before proceeding to walk away without a word. The video of the incident went viral on social networks and many praised Suryakumar Yadav’s reaction to the entire confrontation with the RCB captain.
Suryakumar said that after the match, Kohli returned to normal and even congratulated him on a good shot.
“I’ve seen him this energetic in every game. It wasn’t like he was in the game against IM. Even when he plays for India or even franchise cricket and against any team, he’s aggressive and the energy is always on. the nail. It was an important match for them (RCB) too. After the match, he returned to normal. He told me that he had played well, “Surkyamar Yadav told Sports Tak in a video posted on YouTube.
“It was nothing. It was just in the heat of that moment. I was also a bit surprised that he stood out so much,” he said of the incident.
Promoted
Not only did he not lose his cool, Suryakumar starred with the bat to lead the Mumbai Indians to victory thanks to a brilliant 79 of just 43 balls in pursuit.
The MI hitter has also made headlines after not being chosen in either squad for the Australia tour. Suryakumar spoke of his disappointment, but said “the show must go on.”
