Bangalore:

The Central Crime Branch, which is investigating drug abuse in Kannada’s film industry, has issued a surveillance notice against the former minister and son of the late Jeevaraj Alva, Aditya Alva, who has disappeared.

Police suspect that Aditya Alva is in India and is in hiding to evade arrest.

They also fear that he will try to leave the country and consequently all airports in the country have been alerted to arrest him, police sources told the PTI news agency.

“We have issued a surveillance notice for Aditya Alva,” a CCB official told the Press Trust of India news agency on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Internal Security Division, which is simultaneously investigating the case, summoned some film and television artists as well as sports personalities.

However, no one has been arrested yet.

According to officials from the Internal Security Division, notifications have been served to 67 people.

Meanwhile, a Mangaluru report said police arrested a young woman from Manipur, who was in contact with dancer and choreographer Kishore Aman Shetty, facing drug trafficking and drug abuse charges.

The woman identified as Aska was detained at a spa in the city, where she works.

It was revealed that he had partied with Kishore Aman Shetty and was using drugs, the Press Trust of India reported.

The arrest was recorded after a drug test on her came back positive.

Investigations are under way to track down others who had attended the Kishore Shetty parties, sources told the Press Trust of India.

State police began investigating drug abuse among the big shots, including those in the film industry, after the Office of Narcotics Control arrested three people from Bengaluru with a booty of drugs.

They allegedly supplied drugs to actors and movie singers in Kannada.

The CCB has arrested 13 people for this reason while searching for at least seven more people.

Among those arrested are film actresses Ragini Dwivedi, Sanjjanaa Galrani, real estate agent Rahul Thonse and RTO employee BK Ravishankar.
