Suresh Raina’s sudden departure of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season was a surprise for the cricket fraternity. He hastily returned to India only to provoke a controversy when various theories emerged that all was not well between him and the franchise. However, Raina himself cleared things up later and also hinted to return to the United Arab Emirates at some point during the tournament.

He even stated that he was concerned for his young family while in the UAE and thus returned home. At the same time, up to 13 members of the CSK camp tested positive and there were also doubts that even the IPL was going ahead at the time.

However, recent events have confirmed that Suresh Raina will not be returning to CSK for at least this season. His name has been removed from the franchise’s official website from the equipment section. Even Harbhajan Singh’s name is not there, yet it was clear to him that he would lose the league.

CSK CEO Comments

Before, even the CEO of CSK, Kasi Viswanathan, had said that the team respects Suresh Raina’s personal space and had confirmed that the team had moved. Also, after losing two games in a row, the fans miss their ‘Chinna Thala’. But Kasi has assured fans that the team will bounce back strong.

“We can’t look at (Suresh) Raina because she was unavailable, and we respect her decision and her space. We are not thinking about that. I can assure the fans that we will bounce back strong. It’s a game and you have your good and bad days. But the boys know what they have to do and the smiles will return ”, he had said before.

Meanwhile, CSK is currently enjoying a six-day break and will now take to the field against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), another struggling team, on October 2.
