Chennai Super Kings hitter Suresh Raina has opened up about the real reasons behind his sudden decision to fly home from the UAE and lose the 2020 IPL. The left-hander said he had to come back for his family because there was something that needed to be addressed immediately.

There have been several reports suggesting a gap between the IPL’s second-best player and the CSK team leadership, but the former Indian cricketer denied them, calling his decision to leave the CSK camp as “difficult.”
“CSK is also my family and Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) is very important to me and this was a difficult decision. There is no problem between CSK and me, ”Raina added.

Raina, who has represented CSK in the 10 seasons the franchise has been part of the IPL, said he hopes to play IPL for the next four to five years.
“Nobody will just turn their back on Rs 12.5 crore and walk away without a solid reason. I may have retired from international cricket, but I am still young and looking forward to playing for them in the IPL for the next 4-5 years, ”added Raina.

“I have a young family at home and I was concerned if something would happen to me,” Raina said. “My family is the most important thing to me and I am really concerned for them during these times. I have not seen my children in over 20 days, even after returning, since I have been in quarantine. “
Raina tweeted asking for help from the government and police after her close relatives were attacked in Pathankot.
“The Pathankot incident was horrible and it has really been very upsetting for everyone in our family. And it was my responsibility to go back and take care of them. But since I came back, I have been quarantined here. So, I still have to go meet my parents and my bua, who are all very distressed, ”added the 33-year-old man.
