Surely not Dinesh Karthik, says S Sreesanth while naming the player who should lead KKR

With Dinesh Karthik enduring another miserable outing with the bat, former India pacemaker S Sreesanth has opined that the wicketkeeper-batsman should not lead Kolkata Knight Riders at the ongoing 2020 IPL.

The right-handed hitter failed to deliver on Saturday when Kolkata Knight Riders went down fighting the Delhi Capitals while chasing an unlikely total of 229. The KKR captain promoted him to number five ahead of Eoin Morgan in form during the big chase, but was unable to provide the team the boost it so badly needs.

At a time when the requested running rate was more than 10, he hit only 6 of 8 balls. This was his third consecutive single-digit score in the ongoing competition, having scored 1 and 0 in his previous outings against the Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

And when Dinesh Karthik failed again with the bat, S Sreesanth took to Twitter to say he shouldn’t be the man leading the team. The World Cup winning bowler said England captain Eoin Morgan should be leading the team that instead of the goalie-batter he wrote:

“I genuinely feel that @ Eoin16 should lead the team, (grumpy, not * dk kolaimandaaaiii) The World Cup winning captain should sullenly lead to the IPL side. I hope #kkr looks at this issue. Rohit, Dhoni or Virat. .. what a player “.

Delhi Capitals beat KKR in thriller:

As far as the game goes, Delhi Capitals beat KKR by 18 runs to place at the top of the points table. Eoin Morgan played a 44-run snap shot towards the end and received good company from Rahul Tripathi (36), but the duo couldn’t put the finishing touches on. KKR finished their innings 210 of 8.

Early in the game, Delhi Capitals rode in the 1950s of Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer to post 228 out of 4, the highest 2020 IPL total so far.
