NEW DELHI : On Tuesday, the Supreme Court refused to consider a petition seeking an order for the CBSE and the Delhi government to waive examination fees for students in classes 10 and 12 in the current academic year in view of the COVID-19 and the financial problems some parents face.
A court of judges Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah dismissed the petition filed by the NGO “Social Jurist” against the order of September 28 from the Delhi High Court.
“How can the court order the government to do this? It should represent the government … Fired,” the court said.
The superior court had asked the AAP government and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to treat the PIL as a proxy and make a decision “in accordance with the law, rules, regulations and government policy applicable to the facts of the case “within three weeks.
