CHANDIGARH: In the middle of farmers in progress‘Protest against farm laws, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP from Gurdaspur Sunny Deol said on Sunday that it supports his party and farmers. He also said that the central government always think about improving farmers.
On Twitter, Deol posted a photo of his statement about the ongoing farmers’ protest.
“I ask everyone to make it a matter between our farmers and the government. Do not stand between them, because both will find a way after the discussions. I know that a lot of people want to profit from it and it is creating problems. Not thinking in farmers. They can have their own agenda, “he said.
“Deep Siddhu who was with me during the elections has not been with me for a long time and whatever he is talking about, he is saying it on his own. I am in no way related to his activities. I am with my party and the farmers and it will always be with the farmers. Our government always thinks about the betterment of the farmers and I am sure that the government will ensure the correct result after holding talks with the farmers, “he added.
The actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu reportedly embraced the Khalistan cause under the guise of defending protesting farmers. Sidhu drew national attention during farmer protests when a video of his conversation with a policeman in Haryana went viral.
The protesting farmers have asked Bharat bandh December 8th.
Farmers have been protesting on the borders of the national capital for the past 11 days against the three agricultural laws. The Center is working with farmers to resolve their differences. The next round of talks between peasant leaders and the central government is scheduled for December 9.
Farmers protest against the Agricultural Products Trade and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Act of 2020, the Farmers’ Agreement (Empowerment and Protection) on Price Guarantee and the Agricultural Services Act of 2020 and the Essential Products Act (Amendment ) of 2020.
